Advertising posters as far as being products of the industry of desire are present in almost all aspects of everyday life; mainly world’s great cities live the onslaught of their invasive capability, as they pervade streets, sidewalks, facades, buildings, plazas. Advertising in media enters the rooms of people’s homes to be consumed through eyes and ears, they seep into public transport and they illuminate the night life of city’s main avenues. A soda-making company outstands due to its advertising permanence for more than a hundred years, and its products are located among the highest levels of consumption all over the world: Coca-Cola. Here we present the analysis of one of its latest advertising posters that continues with the line proper to the company’s marketplace positioning.
The analysis is done in the light of the methodological approach that the advertising critic Joan Ferrés uses as an educational resource for secondary and tertiary students, which we offer as a sample of its application in the classroom for critical thinking building, facing publicity and consumption.
