Abstract

This article aims to present an approach to the novel Workers the factory is yours! of the hitherto
unknown Rigoberto Rodríguez. The characteristics of the central characters and the plot are
described to support the proposal that this work is part of the current of the proletarian novel insofar as it presents a portrait and exaltation of the working life and culture of the first decades of the 20th
century and since it portrays the participation of the workers in the deed of the Mexican Revolution,
which is criticized for not having substantially improved the conditions of the working class. It also
highlights the author's conception of the Revolution as a complex and non-linear process that
implied advances and setbacks, but whose claim could possibly be achieved with the Cardenista
project. The central contribution is to publicize the work of this author that has not been previously
studied and propose its insertion into the canon of Mexican literature as a proletarian novel.
