Social Media as a space for Appearance: Thoughts on the concept of action according to Arendt.
Keywords:
Social Networks, Public Space, ActionAbstract
Since their appearance, social networks have been a space in which opinions can be exchanged and bonds be made by people from different parts of the world. In these media, users show photos and videos, but also opinions and ideas that are constant themes on the networks. In this context, the question arises as to whether what happens there is really transcendent, whether the exchange of information and opinions can have a political impact on people outside that sphere. To clarify the matter, Hannah Arendt's concept of action is used. The elements that, according to this philosopher, are conditions for the action to be carried out are presented. In this way, the limitations and advantages of social networks are analyzed for action to arise.
