The theories of law pursue the correct application of its contents to grant greater legal certainty. However, most theories attempt to answer the question of what is law and what should be law. With which, those contributions that tend to clarify its contents only propose to do so from what it represents under the postulates on which they are based. Therefore, in this article the problem of cognition of law will be addressed, having as theoretical support the theory of guarantee, evidentiary reasoning and legal argumentation, which will allow studying the elements that make up legal judgments, to identify how the law can be known with the design of an epistemology for the law.
