Abstract

In recent years several researchers have raised the need to carry out a new epistemological foundation of studies on peace. This rethinking has been opening a way of investigation that has been considered as object of study the practices of peaceful coexistence that are established in the human communities, as well as their conditions of effective possibility. Accordingly, the methodological guideline of the Philosophy for Peace would be to carry out a reconstruction of human competencies to make peace.
From the perspective of analysis that opens this epistemological turn of the Philosophy for Peace, the present work aims to expose some of the contributions that the Psychology of the Conflict could make to that reconstruction of the human competences to make peace, in particular, with respect to three issues: a) the study on the constructive aspects of conflicts, b) studies on conflict management styles, and c) Some approaches on ethics and conflict resolution. With all of the above, this paper aims to draw attention to the pertinence and usefulness of deepening in this field of investigation and intervention in which multiple interests and disciplinary perspectives converge.
