Visual metonymy and metaphor: two examples, “Cinema Paradiso” and “El Cartero de Neruda”
Keywords:
Metonymy., Metaphor., Text., Code., Sign., Intertextuality.Abstract
In this paper, based mainly on semiotic tools, we will analize a case of metonymy and a metaphor, correspondingly, in two film-texts: Cinema Paradiso and Il postino. Our general objectives are: a) to propose an approach for future applications of rhetoric notions to texts whose structure is not conformed by lingüistic code and b) to show the function of both rhetorical resources within each of the chosen film-texts.Downloads
