This work studies the case of a text by René Avilés Fabila that was published in a political medium and from there it became part of the history of Mexican literature. The study reviews the phenomena that allow a text, without changing its content, to pass from one genre to another. The peculiar composition of the text in question motivates reflections on the being of literature
