The body in Schopenhauer's philosophy: the point of convergence for the World as Representation and as Will.
Keywords:
Schopenhauer, Body, Representation, WillAbstract
On the present article, we´ll describe the importance for contemporary philosophy the novel introduction of the body in the philosophy of Schopenhauer. During modernity and the early years of German idealism, the body had been relegated to a merely incidental and inconsequential spot at the philosophical tradition, since the Cartesian reflection was the spirit or mind the central issue, concerning the subject. Therefore, we now present a philosophy that rediscovers this notion and presents it as necessarily important in the transcendental system of the author, to the extent that this concept is central to understanding the philosophical proposal of Arthur Schopenhauer.
