Abstract

Argumentation processes are present in different sociocultural fields and in different specialized
disciplines. In the economic sphere, arguments are often used to justify decisions, which can be
individual or collective. Fallacies, which represent systematic errors in argumentation, are also
present in arguments that arise in economic discussions. But economic fallacies not only present the
problem of not providing the correct reasons for the conclusion or drawing the wrong conclusions,
but they can also motivate decisions whose consequences can be negative, in the short, medium or long term. In this article, I will analyze some fallacies that commonly occur in the economic field,
illustrating them with real examples, to show the possible consequences that can be derived from
decisions based on economic fallacies.
