This qualitative research describes the perspective of primary level teachers on the online class modality implemented in the face of the COVID-19 pandemic in Cajeme, Sonora, Mexico. To achieve this goal, 18 interviews were conducted with public school teachers in the period from January to June 2021. The results indicate the challenges teachers face in terms of limited communication with parents, increased administrative tasks, and poor technological infrastructure. The conclusions suggest that teachers used different strategies to respond to these difficulties in school work.
