Abstract

In the poetry of Jaime Siles appears the influence of Hölderlin, Fichte, Schelling or Hegel. We are before poetry with many philosophical elements, which raises the integration of reason and sensation as the double raw material of the poem, and the problem of the identity of the author in terms of the content of his consciousness, partly invention and partly evocation. The aim of this study is to demonstrate that the poet tries to resolve the dichotomy between poetry and philosophy, which became distant and intangible when Plato removes it from his thought. The methodology used for this research is based on studies, observations, and analysis of the work of the Valencian poet and his scholars, who are not few. It is a quantitative approach with reflections on great thinkers such as Heidegger and Maria Zambrano, who studied the problem, the distances, and approaches of poetry and philosophy. In conclusion, the poetry of Jaime Siles presents multiple reflections of poetry that reconsider philosophical themes, which makes it original and unique almost since Miguel de Unamuno, since the connection between poetry and philosophy, despite being permanent, has always had its disagreements.
