Abstract

The article offers a critical analysis of the global education landscape, assessing its alignment with the goals of the 2030 Agenda. While the intention to promote inclusive and equitable education is acknowledged, real progress is questioned, particularly in Latin America and Mexico, where deep-rooted inequalities persist. In Mexico, the dream of inclusion and equity faces structural challenges that hinder its achievement. The analysis emphasizes that education must be transformative, not only in terms of quality but also in its ability to reduce social inequalities. Equity, far from being a theoretical goal, requires a profound restructuring of the educational system, which involves strengthening the role of teachers and ensuring universal access to knowledge. The democratization of education, understood as free access to knowledge, is essential to overcoming these barriers. However, the conclusion highlights that the 2030 Agenda has yet to fully realize these ideals, leaving significant work to be done to achieve true educational equity.
