Experimental narrative has emerged as a disruptive force in contemporary literature, challenging traditional structures and expanding the boundaries of creativity. This article examines its impact on the relationship between author, text, and reader, aiming to explore how experimental techniques redefine literary conventions. Through a qualitative approach, the study analyzes key works from authors such as James Joyce, Ali Smith, Mark Z. Danielewski, César Aira, among others, alongside theoretical reflections from Jean-François Lyotard and Martínez. The findings highlight the diversity of narrative strategies, including fragmentation, non-linear storytelling, visual design, and improvisation, all of which empower readers to become active participants in the construction of meaning. However, reception proves polarized: while some readers celebrate the richness of interpretation, others perceive these works as challenging or inaccessible, emphasizing the need for a balance between innovation and emotional connection. The discussion focuses on the limits of experimentation, showcasing successful cases where emotional resonance strengthens communication, as well as instances where structural innovation risks alienating the audience. Ultimately, the article concludes that experimental narrative, as an act of resistance and creativity, remains an essential driver for the evolution of literature, enabling writers to constantly renew the connection between their works and their readers.
