Abstract

This article offers a philosophical reflection on poetic language as the point of convergence between philosophy and poetry, based on the thesis that both disciplines are originally grounded in language. The author argues that modern reason, dominated by pragmatism and dogmatism, has marginalized essential dimensions of thought, particularly those related to the poetic, the symbolic, and the irrational. In response, the notion of poetic reason is proposed as a form of thinking that does not oppose rationality, but rather expands it by integrating emotion, intuition, and metaphor. Throughout the article, language is examined as a creative force, with words understood not merely as referential signs but as instances that give existence and meaning to things. Drawing on thinkers such as Heidegger, Wittgenstein, Kant, Dilthey, and Plato, the study argues that all language is originally poetic, insofar as it emerges from wonder and the need to name the world for the first time. The article also reflects on the intersubjective nature of language, the role of metaphor, and the aesthetic dimension of thinking. It concludes that philosophy and poetry are not hierarchically ordered, but rather constitute complementary paths toward understanding the human being and the world through the creative power of language.
