Abstract

Taking as a starting point the aesthetic ideas proposed by the own Macedonio Fernandez, one of the most interesting figures of Argentina literature of the early twentieth century, who, following the aesthetic tradition of the French Symbolists, argues that art is not a product of inspiration, but the hard intellectual work, so the literary text interested only in its aesthetic composition or beauty and therefore can only produce an intellectual pleasure, we propose an analysis of the poem "Suave spell" a piece full of concepts and elements significant that require a strong dose of intellectual work. This poem is a text that, rather than the product of inspiration and aesthetic intuition, is the product of hard work trying to realize the aesthetic ideas, that at the time of writing the poem, have not been developed at all, for them the poem turns out to be difficult to read and hard to understand, lacking sound and semantic rhythms that help the expression of the sense; In this poem, the bottom line is that it creates, as it unfolds and develops, how it needs to be presented, because it does not exist, or can exist beforehand.
