Abstract

In this work the voice of the omniscient narrator is problematized in front of the character's voice. In the development of this study, parrhesia (the use of truthful saying in Foucault's terms) is considered as the axis for the credibility of the narrative technique. In the same way, the structure of the story itself offers a visible story and two hidden stories that force the reader to find a goal to solve in the digesis of the work. Thus, both voices, both the omniscient narrator and the character, offer multiple information regarding the protagonist's past that, progressively, clarify those two hidden stories in the plot of the story.
