The following research aims to examine the evolution of Bolaño’s aesthetic ideas through the analysis of The First Infrarealist Manifesto, The Savage Detectives, and 2666. Assuming that all his literary work is interconnected and, as the author pointed out, they are all part of a common project, this investigation will reflect his poetics, its materialization through fiction and how it evolved. The metafictional analysis will be used since his conceptualization about literature and writing was essentially made through the digressions of their characters.
