The methodological perspective holds that the correct use of scientific method guarantees certain knowledge. Gadamer thinks that this perspective offers a distorted image on the nature of truth. For it cannot explained certain forms of experience that produces knowledge. Art, history and language are forms of experiencing truth which cannot be explained by methodological means. In order to participate in this kind of knowledge, Bildung, not method, is required. Bildung is a dynamic concept that reveals the way we are gradually being shaped. It is an ideal that compels us to abandon our particular point of view in order to participate in better and wider ways of understanding. This article explores how Building enables the experience of truth. It focus on certain aspects of Building such as: the abandonment of particularity, the acknowledge of otherness, the acceptance of one's ignorence, and the negative aspect of hermenutic's experience.
