In “Absenteeism, school dropout and educational lagging in public high schools in Mexico
during the Covid-19 pandemic” we analyze 2020-2021 school year with all the difficulties to
control attendance and school dropout in public high schools which generated other
learning options: tutors, face-to-face private (pandemic pods) or virtual classes. Through an
anthropological approach we analyze virtual classes issues which allow us to understand that it is necessary to strengthen the public education system to battle against school dropout
and decrease educational lagging during 2021-2022 school year.
