Abstract

This work was born with the purpose of finding the role that the state gives to public education,
however, it does not cover the whole structure of schools or the complete catalogue of subjects, we
chose specifically the subject of history and the text belonging to the fifth grade, this selection comes
from the review we carried out of the curriculum map of primary education.
Our initial conception points to historical reconstruction as a pillar in the construction of
nationalism in public school students, that is, characters are used, despite being real and have
historical records of their lives, the way their ACTS and decisions are narrated is designed to provide
them with characteristics of heroes or enemies of the nation. So the historical narrative of this text
becomes a narrative of literary and nationalist tones. During the development of this research we
observed several elements that help shape the structure of thought in Mexican citizenship. Our
theoretical approach focuses on research and analysis based on critical discourse analysis.
