Abstract

The pandemic that COVID-19 has brought with it has become a global milestone, as it has penetrated
the various aspects of the public and private life of all people in the world, and it has shaken up the
work, academic, social, family, economic and political spheres. In March 2020, the limitation and
interruption of ordinary activities was replicated in most countries of the world, forcing all sectors to
seek strategies that would contribute to solving the avalanche of exacerbated needs that were to
come. In particular, the educational sector had to find a way to give continuity to the education of
new generations, and remote education became the most viable resource for that to happen. This
text offers a reflection on the realities that go through remote education and the setbacks that both
teachers and students have had to face, specifically in private educational institutions. Teaching and
learning tasks in an environment so devoid of tools, but with high expectations due to its commercial
approach, require a peculiar adaptability to a series of innovative strategies on the part of all its
participants, which could well be ideal if the human factor was a core part of the circumstance.
