Abstract

Birdman or (the unexpected virtue of ignorance), winner of the Oscar for best film in 2015. Film directed by Iñarritu, where he explores the doubts that an actor has in the decline of his career when trying to recover fame and the prestige that a He once had to play a superhero in the 1990s. Riggan, the main character in this story, tries to prove that he is a good actor and artist by performing a play on Broadway, in which he is the director, writer and actor. In this work I carry out a narrative and character analysis of this film. I will try to sustain two statements, one, the narrator is the dressing room, which represents Riggan's mind and the viewer sees how he deals with it; and two, Riggan does not have a dissociative personality problem, Birdman is not another personality, he is the representation of doubts and fear.
