This essay explore the history of the ideas in Our-American in revive the philosophical knowledge of Latin American regionalism from the 19th century and its relevance in the theories of regional integration in the 21st century. The history of ideas is the method in which local and foreign ideas are appropriated to explain the reality of a specific region as accurately as possible. The paper is divided into three parts: the initial Hispanic-American congresses provide context to explain the intellectual movement of the time; a revival of the philosophical knowledge developed by intellectuals who supported regional projects during this period; and finally, the contemporary relevance of this knowledge in new theories of Latin American regional integration.
