The notion of substance in scholastic thinking

on of the main representatives of the scholastic school, not only helped, but also marked the beginning of a new reflexive stage about the notion of substance that was giving with the philosophers of nature. Through a brief tour of the philosophy of Aristotle on this subject, we can observe and understand the paradigm shift that occurred with the arrival of the so-called scholastic philosophy, whose representatives St. Bonaventure, St. Anselm and St. Thomas Aquinas will perform the First synthesis on the notion of substance, which makes them considered as the great synthesizers of scholastic philosophical reflection and as the initiators of a real metaphysics of substance.Downloads
