Abstract

Through to history of cinema is possibly find films of reflection philosophique, so many that
the list could be long. The case of thought of Michael Foucault and her theory of the political-power
has been reflected in various film or television installments, the examples can be very broad: It
maintains similarities with the criticism of the Benthamian panopticon, likewise the panopticon has

been cited in other cinematographic works such as Tropa de Elite, or in the animated series Psycho-
Pass. In this occasion will speak ous on the film A Clockwork Orange directed by Satney Kubrick. It is

argued that the film is a reflection of Foucauldian thought regarding the genealogy of political-power
in human history. But, what is the similarity between the film and Foucault's theory of power?
Answering this question leads us to ask a secondary question: Why is Alexander DeLarge treated like
a madman, not like a criminal? Ludoviko treatment assumes that the problem is not the person's free
will that must be corrected to achieve adequate behavior, but the clinical treatment, the medication
that shapes the dissocial behavior of the individual. Regarding the method to follow, the
hermeneutic reflection will help to understand and interpret Foucault's thought, simultaneously
interpreting the philosophical background of the film.
