Abstract

Contemporary art is a complex phenomenon that requires semiotic tools for its interpretation and appreciation. Therefore, with the support of Pierce's semiotic theories and Freire's critical pedagogy, we seek to allow society in general to establish its own community terms to call current artistic productions exhibited in museums in Morelia, Michoacán or any other contemporary or not. artistic piece from a Michoacan artist. The disconnection of the public with contemporary art is the result of the lack of dialogic processes between aesthetic agents (producers, exhibitors, spectators) and the diversity of proposals that can be extravagant in the eyes of casual or first-time spectators in a museum. Critical pedagogy seeks to promote a participatory community in cultural phenomena, such as contemporary art, through tools proposed by pedagogues of the critical movement. Contemporary art is diverse, characterized by the autonomy of the works and the inclusion of different styles, techniques and movements. It is related to critical pedagogy, which seeks to promote participation in a just and equitable society through dialogue. It reflects the evolution of art and its ability to communicate emotions and experiences.
