Keywords:
Disease, Illness, Philosophy of medicineAbstract
In this article we review the situation of the philosophy of medicine in Mexico, focusing on one of the main authors: Dr. Fernando Martínez. From this author we analyze his proposal of the difference between the concepts of disease and illness. The first of which would be the biomedical concept of the disease and the second a new type of process not necessarily biological but, according to the author's proposal, of great importance in health care.
