Newton's percipient god: exposition of the empirical-philosophical condition of the Newtonian system
Keywords:
God, Natural Philosophy, Perception-sensation, Space-timeAbstract
This article examines Newton's conception of God and the role it has within the philosophical system we propose Newton created. We will show that in the inclusion of God as an object of natural philosophy the English thinker is committed to an approach in which the Principia represents only a part of a much broader system. Newton's definition of God shows the fully philosophical nature of his thought and is in a field of evident vivacity in the modern discussion of knowledge: the field of perception.
