Keywords:
Dao, Virtue, Lao Zi, Daoism, ConfuciusAbstract
The objective of this article is to show the political-social postulates of Lao Zi's Taoism through a study of key passages in the Dao De Ching. For this purpose, an analysis of the texts will be conducted with an emphasis on certain key concepts in Chinese and the intertextual connections with Confucian doctrine. This article will have two main sections: 1) the criticism that Lao Zi's Taoism directs to the Confucian postulates, present throughout much of his work, and 2) the Taoist postulates that can be deduced from the mentioned source.
