Abstract

La giganta (2015), by Patricia Laurent, presents a dissident maternal figure, which belongs to
the category ‘bad mother’. This woman breaks the social ideal by being a mother who,
plunged into despair caused by a host of complexities, turns into a suicidal and filicidal
attempt.
