The author Luis Rodriguez Manzanera proposes the concept of macrocriminality when referring to a historical stage that involves the development of criminal manifestations, which are maintained by a sociopolitical justification and that involves an entire society. This definition was propitious to incorporate it for the analysis of News of a Kidnapping (1996), because, in this journalistic novel, events related to subversive actions that support traffic are narrated. illicit drug, along with attacks that caused Pablo Escobar, organizer of the Medellin Cartel (Colombia), to government entities. Some indicators that appropriate this conceptualization are violence, insanity and narcoterrorism.
