Abstract
This article explores Ray Bradbury’s The Martian Chronicles (1950), drawing a connection between the historical context of its publication, the events it narrates, and the Spanish conquest of the American continent. Furthermore, it examines the similarity between the conqueror’s desire to migrate and their “pacifying” mindset toward the Other in both narratives.
