The purpose of this paper is to show that the informative texts published in the early years of the newspaper La Actualidad (1906-1909), which circulated in the city of Morelia, Michoacán (Mexico), were part of an incipient textual type, with blurred boundaries, which brought them closer to other types of texts. Through the analysis of informative notes from the first year of circulation of the newspaper, it will be shown that although the informative note had from its beginnings the objective of informing, some of its characteristics –such as brevity, figurative language and the fictional tones of the events reported–, bring it closer to the literary text, particularly to minification. This approach is reinforced by the constant use of figurative language, as well as humor and irony. However, the fictional text was not the only one that lent its resources to this genre under construction, some news items were closed with the express opinion of the writer or of the newspaper itself, which brings the news closer to the opinion piece. Finally, we will show that the news published in the newspaper showed signs of fusion with the advertisement. All of the above corroborates the diffuse limits in the conformation of this informative textual type.
