Abstract

This text discusses the tale “Historia de Mariquita” by Guadalupe Dueñas. The analysis is based on the scientific method in order to identify why this tale belongs to the horror tale. Also, it analyzes the figure of Mariquita as the principal part of the tale without executing the actions for herself. And it discusses the hypothesis about the support of the tale on urban legends.
