About the Journal
Sincronía journal was founded in 1996, being the first electronic magazine in Latin America. Its founder, Dr. Stephen W. Gilbert, attached to the Department of Geography and Territorial Planning of the University of Guadalajara, donated the magazine to the departments of Philosophy and Literature in 2014, leaving Mtro. Javier Ponce Martínez and Dr. Raúl Rodríguez Monsiváis, leading the magazine to an important evolution, thus allowing the professionalization of its editorial work and becoming one of the main electronic magazines of the University of Guadalajara, thanks to its international projection.
Currently, Sincronía journal is configured as a biannual, refereed and open access electronic journal, which publishes original scientific research articles on topics of Philosophy, Letters and Humanities. This magazine is edited by the Department of Philosophy and the Department of Letters, of the University Center of Social Sciences and Humanities of the University of Guadalajara; aimed at academic readers and the general public, interested in topics of conceptual analysis and/or approaches to problems in the Social Sciences and Humanities.
From 2015 to date, it receives funding from the University Scientific Journals Program, granted by the University of Guadalajara, through the General Academic Coordination and managed by the Research Coordination of the University Center for Social Sciences and Humanities; with the aim of professionalizing the editorial work, as well as the substantive improvement of its official web portal.
The fundamental purpose of the journal is to make available to the academic scientific community and the general public, the research product of academics enrolled in institutions and universities, both public and private, national and foreign, in order to disseminate scientific knowledge. , a product of his research work. The central themes are on philosophical and literary topics, without excluding those on history, science, politics, geography, education, etc.; addressing them from various disciplinary aspects.
The published articles are available in three formats: PDF, Word and HTML so that they can be downloaded in any version. Each article is published in the original language, mostly in Spanish, and the summaries of the published articles have translations into English.
Rights Session: Sincronía uses a Literary Work Use License, which establishes the rights that the University of Guadalajara has for the publication of the articles, as well as, among others, rights for their dissemination, promotion and dissemination. This license can be downloaded directly in the Publishing Criteria section. As of issue 74, July-December 2018, the CC-BY Attribution 4.0 International licenses have been adopted for the magazine portal and CC-BY NC Non-Commercial Attribution 4.0 International licenses for the articles.
